This year the focus of World Breastfeeding Week, commemorated from 1-7 August 2023, is on breastfeeding and employment/work. It aims to showcase the impact of paid leave, workplace support and emerging parenting norms on breastfeeding through the lens of parents themselves.
We, as La Leche League South Africa, are also specifically involved in various discussions and talks in collaboration with the Panda app looking at the impact of breastfeeding on the mental health of the mother and baby.
