Naseegah’s words of appreciation for LLLSA support and journey through tandem breastfeeding

Thank you to the mothers but especially to the Leaders of the Parow LLLSA WhatsApp support group  for always being on top of responses. I will always remember your kindness and support through difficult times while being there for all the other mothers, and still finding the time to check in privately with me if something was wrong. May you be rewarded abundantly for everything you do for everyone. Know that you are all appreciated and that I am grateful for every piece of advice, guidance and support I've received from you over the last 3 years. My breastfeeding journey has now come to an end.

This group has been a great pillar of strength in my breastfeeding journey, especially the tandem feeding group when I was breastfeeding both my babies. I got judged for it and was told from every corner that I should take my oldest off the breast but you encouraged me to keep going until my older son and I were ready to stop. I've learnt so much from this group, even when not asking any questions, but reading the articles posted and the questions and answers from everyone else. I've grown so much with knowledge from this group.

I’m having mixed emotions about finally having my body to myself again. I am also very emotional that my younger daughter suddenly decided it's no more boobs and no more nappies, and refuses every time I try offering her breastfeeds. I now accept that this journey is really over. 

It's been filled with lots of ups and downs, feelings of being overwhelmed but more so feeling fulfilled and proud that I was able to feed both my babies beyond 2years from my body. I was able to give them the absolute best start with their nutrition in life with the best source of food and without having to rely on any artificial top ups or follow up formulas as I've always had a good supply, with the exception of a week or two after having a bug while pregnant with my second. 

Wishing everyone here love and strength in their journeys and may you also have a smooth journey and the same sense of accomplishment I feel now that my journey has come to an end.
